Maker's statement: I try to capture the fluid quality of raw clay that has been freely thrown, revealing the scars and undulations of throwing lines and the accidental flaws created in the process of structure. I believe woodfired pieces need to be rugged to survive and record the firing process - muting and accentuating, acquiring and losing, contrasting and enhancing the surface and the form.
