» Artist's resume

Maker's statement: I enjoy working in my natural environment and utilising what it can provide. Around my home, in the Bega Valley, I have access to a wealth of raw materials, such as clay and glaze materials, black wattle wood-ash, feldspar and pyrophyllite. I use a combination of clay, stone, wood, fire and ash to enrich and decorate my thrown forms, which are Korean-inspired. My work is fired either in an anagama or a trolley kiln, for 70 - 120 hours, up to 1320C. I guess the appeal is in the endless variations of the natural ash glazes that capture the essence of the clay body and the firing process.
