» Artist's resume

Maker's statement: Through my making I seek to discover something of the primal energy, spirit and potency of the subterranean. By placing myself in an active configuration with the elements, I am engaging with nature's forces and abandoning specific expectations. In this way, I am able to ride with nature for a while and feel something of its power. I enjoy the ability of extreme heat to change and enliven earth-born materials....the softening, the melting and the moving of affected substance. My works become an abstraction of natural phenomena as I combine materials with nature's might. I choose a methodology for making that is analogous to nature's way of amending matter - moving beyond technology and words to find primal expressions of life.
